The company Plaza-1, awarded the management of the Las Ventas bullring in Madrid, suspends bullfights and bullfights in this historic venue in the capital, owned by the Community of Madrid.

In a statement, Plaza 1 assures that "in view of the impossibility of guaranteeing compliance with the sanitary measures" imposed by the Madrid Ministry of Health, "the suspension of bullfighting festivities in Plaza de Las Ventas is extended until the necessary sanitary conditions that fully guarantee the safety of spectators. "

These measures of the Community of Madrid, included in Order 668/2020 of June 19, allowed the company to organize bullfighting celebrations with a maximum capacity of 75 percent , always with the mandatory use of masks by the public.

The company reports that "from next week it will contact season subscribers to start the refund of their subscription amounts", something that had not been taken into account so far.

As Efe has learned, the Community of Madrid, owner of the square, will ask the winning company in the next few days for a report justifying this "impossibility" of complying with the sanitary measures established for the celebration of bullfighting.
