Spending on summer vacation Minimal impact on going out since the survey started July 22 at 5:22

A survey by life insurance companies asking how much spending this summer is likely to have been put together, a decrease of more than 4% from last year, the lowest since the survey started in 2006.
The main reason is that more people are considering going out because of the new coronavirus.

In June, Meiji Yasuda Life conducted a survey on 1,120 men and women in their 20s and 50s all over the country about how to spend their summer vacations online.

According to it, when asked how much one household should spend this summer vacation, nearly half of them answered that they plan to reduce it from last year, and the average spending was 65,157 yen.
It was 2914 yen, 4% less than last year, the lowest since 2006 when we started the survey.

When asked why they
want to reduce their spending, multiple respondents said, “I have no use for going out due to the new coronavirus”, 63%,
followed by
paying for savings due to future anxiety” at 32.9%, and
“income decreased” At 26.2%,
many people think that they should refrain from traveling or going out to avoid infection.

Yuichi Kodama, Chief Economist at Meiji Yasuda Research Institute, said, "In addition to the self-restraint mood, the number of households with fewer summer bonuses and less money on hand is on the rise. The situation will continue for some time."
