  In 1970, Yu Lan was born in Huzhu County, northeast of Qinghai. Due to the death of his father, her mother pulled 8 children hard. Her birth made this poor family even more difficult.

  At that time, the rural areas of Qinghai still adhered to the traditional production and lifestyle of men plowing and weaving women. Here, women inherited the traditional ethnic embroidery art from generation to generation, and Yu Lan’s mother and grandmother were also among them.
