After the salary announcements and job creations, the government will unveil on Tuesday a series of measures presented as "restructuring" on the organization and governance of the healthcare system, on the occasion of the closing of the "Ségur de la santé "

Salary increases are not "for balance of all account", assured Monday the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, promising on France Info "strong announcements, restructuring" and "reorganizing" for the health system. These announcements will concern the entire “world of health, in the city, in hospitals, in the health sector and the medico-social sector. You will see that we do not stop at a massive revaluation but that we invest massively in the tool ”, he continued.

"It's not about turning everything upside down"

The former boss of the CFDT Nicole Notat, responsible for piloting the “Ségur de la santé” since the end of May, must officially deliver her report on Tuesday morning to the organizations and unions that participated in the concertation. The report will be submitted in the presence of Olivier Véran, who will specify the measures he intends to implement in response to the proposals made in recent weeks by stakeholders in the health system.

Due to the signs of a resumption of the coronavirus epidemic, the event, the exact course of which has not yet been specified, will be held by videoconference.

"It is not a question of turning everything upside down" in the "roadmap" set as part of the "My health 2022" plan, adopted in 2018 by former Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn, warned Olivier Véran on Monday. "My predecessor's plan is very good" but "we are going to amplify, accelerate, accentuate, debureaucratize, simplify", he assured.

"An overhaul of our healthcare system"

Asked about Europe 1, the president of the French Hospital Federation (FHF) Frédéric Valletoux said "expect a lot" from this "time 2" of the Ségur de la santé, hoping "to overhaul our healthcare system".

"There was of course the question of wages", settled "largely at least last week". "But there is everything else, which concerns funding, the organization of care, the cooperation of different health professionals," he explained.

During his general policy speech, Prime Minister Jean Castex promised an investment plan of six billion euros for the health system, in addition to the 8.1 billion released to improve the remuneration of staff.

The head of government, who promised to "give more flexibility to institutions" and "to focus on prevention", however, did not detail the concrete measures he intended to take.
