Positive coronavirus cases are spread throughout the country, but in some areas of Spain the virus has hit harder and the new outbreaks have incidence rates well above the national average. Click or hover over the interactive map to see information on the number of patients with a diagnosis confirmed by Covid-19 in total and in the last 14 days, the incidence and the date of data update for each municipality with available data.

Eleven autonomous communities publish the information on the number of Covid-19 cases accumulated in each municipality. These are Madrid, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Andalusia, the Basque Country, Murcia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands and La Rioja . Some of the known outbreaks are not reflected in this map since Aragon, Castilla y León, Galicia, Extremadura and Castilla La Mancha do not publish the number of positives at the municipal level.

Among the municipalities with more than 1,000 inhabitants, due to the outbreak in the province of Lleida, Aitona has the highest incidence rate of the disease: 7,410 positives per 100,000 inhabitants. Of the 190 cases diagnosed in total with a PCR test, 89 have been detected in the last two weeks.

It is followed by Santo Domingo de la Calzada, in La Rioja, which until the moment prior to the lack of control in Lleida was the most affected municipality of more than 1,000 residents in Spain.

In Soses (Lleida), San Llorenç Savall (Barcelona), Mediona (Barcelona), La Fuliola (Lleida), Bagà (Barcelona), Ezcaray (La Rioja), Albelda de Iregua (La Rioja), Alcarràs (Lleida), Guissona ( Lleida), Villanueva del Rey (Córdoba), Casalarreina (La Rioja), Alborache (Valencia), Loiu (Vizcaya), Sopuerta (Vizcaya) and Colmenar del Arroyo (Madrid), Torres del Segre (Lleida) and Castelgalí (Barcelona) la incidence rate since the pandemic began exceeds 3,000 cases for every 100,000 residents.

At the province level, among those with available information, Álava is the one with the highest incidence rate with respect to its population, with 1,686 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Lleida (1,497), La Rioja (1,189), Barcelona (1,139) , Madrid (1,111) and Vizcaya (1,077).

Updated July 20. * Due to the lack of more updated information, the data on new cases in the last 11 days for the Basque Country is reflected. Asturias has not updated information since June 29.

Only Las Palmas has an incidence below 100 positives for every 100,000 inhabitants. Other territories offer geographic data on the incidence of coronavirus in each health area, but not at the municipal level.

Regardless of the total number of accumulated cases, at this time it is relevant to know where the new positives are diagnosed. The incidence in the last two weeks points to the municipalities of the province of Lleida as the main ones affected by the new outbreaks. In most locations, however, there have been no new diagnoses confirmed by PCR testing.

You can sort the interactive table from different columns to find out where newer cases are diagnosed. Although Catalonia updates these data on a daily basis, other regions are more delayed, so some of the latter cases are not reflected on this map at the municipal level. For example, the data of the Valencian Community, updated to July 16, only reflect part of the positives of the outbreak in Gandía, which already exceeds 70 infected.

There is no information on the number of cases for those localities with less than six cases in Madrid. In La Rioja, up to 74 localities indicate that the number of cases is less than 10 and the figure for the incidence per inhabitant is not provided.

In Catalonia there are 1,613 positive cases for which the municipality of residence of the patient is not recorded. In addition, this community reports another 460,185 cases that it describes as "suspicious": people who have presented symptoms and who have been classified as a possible case of covid-19 by a health professional, but who have not undergone a diagnostic test (PCR test). or antibody) with a positive result.

  • The interactive coronavirus infection map includes data on the number of confirmed cases, the rate of infection per 100,000 inhabitants at the municipal level for those territories that provide the data at the local level.
  • The information comes from the official pages or open data portals of each autonomous community.
  • The interactive will be updated with the publication of new data and new communities will be incorporated as they disseminate the information at this level of detail.
  • For the calculation of the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, the data from the municipal registry, published by the INE, as of January 1, 2019 have been used. In the case of the Basque Country, the EUSTAT population figures are used.
  • To find the number of new cases and the incidence in the last 14 days, only the diagnoses with a PCR test were taken into account. Catalonia and Andalusia offer information on positives with other types of tests.
  • Due to the lack of more updated information, the data on new cases in the last 11 days for the Basque Country is reflected. Asturias has not updated information since June 29.
