In Spain there are currently 201 outbreaks of coronavirus, a figure that increases the previous information by 15. The information was provided this Monday by the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, who appeared at the press conference called to analyze the evolution of the pandemic.

"We are especially concerned about Aragon and Catalonia ," said the minister, who did not want to criticize the reaction of the communities at this stage; on the contrary, he has expressed his support for them. "We think that the authorities have taken adequate measures, we have to wait a few days to see the evolution," he said. The minister has shown his confidence that "if the measures are followed, these outbreaks will enter the control phase in the coming days."

As he explained, the outbreaks are mainly associated "with temporary jobs and those spaces where there is a relaxation of the measures ." Salvador Illa has made a new appeal not to let his guard down in self-protection, especially in family parties and celebrations and in nightlife spaces. One more day, young people have been referred to with an "explicit appeal to respect the measures also in these areas".

685 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours

New cases of coronavirus continue to increase. Despite the restrictions and limitations adopted by some communities to deal with outbreaks, Health reports this Monday of 685 Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours . A figure that supposes a slight increase with respect to the 628 registered last Friday, but that multiplies by four the 164 recorded last Monday, just a week ago. Of the 685 new cases , almost half, 325 have occurred in Aragon. Catalonia follows, with 80; and the Basque Country, with 78.

The number of deaths in the last hours remains stable compared to these last days. Two new deaths have been reported (four on Friday). Thus, the total number of deaths from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic amounts to 28,422 . This data excludes deaths from residences and those who had symptoms compatible with Covid-19 but did not undergo a diagnostic test. With death date in the last week, the official count reports nine deceased.

Of these deaths, three have occurred in Castilla La Mancha, the same number as in Madrid. Castilla y León, Valencia and Navarra count one. The rest of the CCAA have not reported any deaths in the last seven days.

The number of hospitalizations registers another increase. According to the official count, 237 people have entered in the last week (228 on Friday, 196 on Thursday, 176 on Wednesday and 165 on Tuesday). Of these, 15 patients have entered the ICU in the same period of time and two in the last 24 hours. Thus, the total admissions in this hospital unit amounts to 11,730.

At the European level, Spain remains in third position by number of infections (264,836), only behind Russia (771,546) and the United Kingdom (294,792). Italy and Turkey continue in fourth and fifth position, with 244,434 and 218,717 infections, respectively. The country with the highest number of deaths is still the United Kingdom (45,300), followed by Italy (35,045) and France (30,152).
