Separation of marine sports and self-restraint areas Kanagawa Fujisawa July 18, 17:52

Due to the influence of the new coronavirus, no beach will be opened in Kanagawa prefecture this summer, but it is assumed that many people will visit the sea in Fujisawa City, so to ensure safety, marine will start from the 18th. We have begun to operate our own rules to divide the area into sports areas and areas that require self-restraint.

This rule was established by a council formed by the city and beach associations to protect the safety of the coast, and started operation on the 18th.

On the 18th, around 10 am, a life saver appeared on a sandy beach in Fujisawa City and set up two flags of about 4 meters in height with a distance of about 100 meters.

The area between the two flags was asking people to refrain from marine sports in the area, prompting local surfers to enter the sea and enjoy marine sports outside the self-restraint area.

In addition, rescue training using drones was also conducted on the coast, and the life saver confirmed the rescue procedure.

Ryo Ueno, Nishihama Surf Life Saving Club said, ``The condition of the sea changes day by day such as the flow of the tide and the weather, and the danger changes, so please fully understand that the sea is dangerous and have fun playing. I'm sorry."

It means that this rule will be applied until the end of next month.
