The first phase of the Xining Garden Expo Park aims to create a green base, build a protective forest belt, and purify water bodies. It covers a total area of 1,346,900 square meters, of which 933,700 square meters are green and 281,000 square meters of water.
Xiao Haidong, deputy director of the Construction Management Committee of the Garden Expo Park and the West Castle Forest Park, introduced that the Garden Expo Park is located at the northern end of the west zone of the Ganhe Industrial Park and used to be an industrial land. "This place used to be full of sandpits and the ecology was very fragile."

"Yuanbo Lake is the core of the regional landscape. Part of the water in the lake comes from the Guosiying Canal, and part comes from the Jiaochang River (a secondary tributary of the Yellow River) with a large amount of sand. The river water flows through the Yuanbo Lake to purify the water. The effect of sedimentation will further purify the downstream water." Xiao Haidong introduced.
The second phase of the Xining Garden Expo Project is located in the middle of the Garden Expo. It will build a gardening experience hall, Garden Expo Lake, Beifang Garden, Bashu Garden, Hehuang Garden, Peony Garden and other special flower gardens and the transformation of old brick factories.
