Wearing a mandatory mask on buses - ALLILI MOURAD / SIPA

Only a few days after the assault of a bus driver in Bayonne resulting in his death, a bus driver was threatened with death in Gaillac (Tarn) for the same reasons: the refusal to wear a mask in public transport , a measure however compulsory.

The verbal assault took place on July 8. While the driver was quietly doing her job, she refused access to her bus to a 53-year-old man who did not want to wear his mask, reports France Bleu . The latter then allegedly threatened him with death several times before fleeing.

The individual was arrested on Thursday July 16 after the driver went to file a complaint. Placed in police custody, the man had already been sentenced to three months suspended prison sentence for aggravated theft. He will appear in court on July 31.
