Australia: Several houses by the sea are at risk of collapse due to erosion - 20 Minutes

A continuity of sunken gardens. This is what the coast of the city of Wamberal in Australia looks like. Many homes by the sea threaten to collapse. The cause: significant erosion accentuated by heavy swells that occurred earlier in the week in the region.

Residents had to evacuate the area. "We are so anxious, scared and vulnerable and, to be honest, upset that we got there when we knew it was going to happen because the wall was not built," says Margaret Brice , resident of Wamberal.

The beach has almost completely disappeared. If the houses collapse, part of the city of Wamberal is threatened.
