Stockholm District Court prosecutes Aron Flam for "intentionally or through gross negligence infringing copyright".

"It is a goal that is ultimately about the fundamental conflict between freedom of expression and copyright. Now the court must make the final balance between the opposing interests in this specific case ", says chamber prosecutor David Ludvigsson in a press release from the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The cover of Flam's book shows the tiger intact and has a swastika on its leg. Earlier in the spring, the third edition of the book was seized. Just over 2,000 copies.

Many previous tiger fights

The Emergency Preparedness Museum owns the copyright to the image A Swedish tiger created by Bertil Almqvist during World War II. It was developed for the Swedish Information Board - SIS to make Swedes more difficult for spies by keeping quiet (silent) about sensitive information.

The image of the tiger has previously been the subject of a trademark battle in court between the defense and the Emergency Preparedness Museum, where the latter emerged victorious from the battle.

The museum has also been critical of the Skåne region, which earlier this spring wanted to use a striped "Swedish raccoon" to get people to wash their hands during the pandemic.
