It took a year and a half of investigations, but the gendarmes eventually found the alleged perpetrators of the hate tags that had covered their brigade in Landivisiau (Finistère). A couple in their twenties and a 33-year-old man were arrested for defaming the police. On the night of April 21 to 22, 2019, slogans such as "ACAB", "Cops committed suicide, Half forgiven", or even "The police protect you, it strikes your eyes !! Had been written on the walls of the Finistère brigade.

The affair had caused a stir among the ranks of gendarmes in the department. Interior Minister at the time Christophe Castaner had supported the military and a demonstration had been organized.

Relatives of the black bloc movement

The investigation opened by the gendarmerie of Plourin-les-Morlaix quickly allowed the arrest of a man from the ultra-left movement. In police custody, the man admitted to having tagged buildings in Landivisiau and Plougastel-Daoulas, but had denied being the author of the hate messages painted on the brigade. The latter had mentioned a couple of friends with whom he had gone to Paris to demonstrate with the yellow vests.

Arrested, the couple living in Landivisiau also gave the name of a third accomplice. The 33-year-old, like the couple, is close to the black bloc movement and has participated in numerous events. The three accused will be summoned to the Brest court on October 5 to answer for their actions.
