A second transport aircraft of the Ground Self-Defense Force, Osprey, which was provisionally deployed in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, arrived at Kisarazu Garrison on the morning of 16th.

The Ministry of Defense is planning to deploy 17 Ground Self-Defense Forces aircraft, Osprey, at Saga Airport, but due to lack of discussion with the locals, it will be provisionally deployed at the Kisarazu Garrison. ..

Of these, the first two were unloaded at U.S. military Iwakuni base in Yamaguchi prefecture this past May, and the first one arrived at Kisarazu Garrison on the 10th of this month, while the flight was postponed twice due to bad weather. Provisional deployment has begun.

The second aircraft left Iwakuni Air Base on the morning of the 16th, and after about two hours of flight, it arrived at Kisarazu Garrison at around 11:00 am.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the two aircraft will be inspected in detail over the next month or so, and then they will start flying next month at the earliest.

Also, the remaining 15 aircraft are planned to be deployed sequentially.

The provisional deployment target is set to be within 5 years, and the Ministry of Defense aims to deploy it at Saga Airport as originally planned, but negotiations with the landowner are necessary, and the construction period for the subsequent facility is also fixed.
