In a press release, the national gendarmerie explains that by this online store, it intends to "enhance and disseminate its image more widely and create lines of derivative products for the general public".
Three brands are developed there: National Gendarmerie, Republican Guard and National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN). These three brands have been registered with the INPI (National Institute of Intellectual Property), it was recalled to the national gendarmerie.
Objective: promote its values
For the gendarmerie, it is also a question of "increasing its influence with all audiences and promoting its values". Among the items on offer are "safety products" (biometric USB key, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.), "useful and practical products" (insulated bottles, mugs, watches, multifunction tongs, etc.), "Products intended for the youngest" (toys, disguises, remote-controlled cars, etc.). Pop-up shops, set up during major events, will also make it possible to acquire these objects.
"The profits generated by this marketing are paid into the budget of the gendarmerie and dedicated to improving the living conditions of staff," said the national gendarmerie.
