It has become a sad tradition: to take stock, every July 15, of the fires and degradations linked to the celebration of the national holiday. According to an initial provisional national assessment, there were 61 arrests including 53 in police custody and three police officers slightly injured, said a police source. A firefighter was also injured by a calf bullet while he was working on a burning car in Etampes, Essonne.

After a night of July 13 already marked, in Paris and in the suburbs, by numerous fires - including those of a gymnasium and a RATP bus in Nanterre - and fifty arrests, the evening of July 14 again been particularly eventful. A bus was set on fire in Suresnes after being fired by fireworks, a police source said, adding that six people had been arrested. An apartment fire also broke out in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, also due to fireworks. No one was injured.

In the Hauts-de-Seine, the police stations of Sèvres and Vanves were fired by fireworks. Other shots were recorded Porte de Vincennes, Porte d'Orléans and in the 15th and 19th arrondissements of Paris.
