The medical examiner confirmed on Tuesday what the investigators thought. Naya Rivera, star of the television series "Glee" found dead Monday in a lake in California five days after his disappearance, was the victim of an "accidental drowning".
No injuries
Examination of the body confirmed that it was the 33-year-old actress and did not identify any injuries. In addition, there is no indication that alcohol or drugs may have played a role in the drowning of Naya Rivera, according to the coroner.
The young woman drowned in Lake Piru, a popular nautical base, after renting a boat on July 8 on which she had embarked with her four-year-old son. She had not reappeared and a major search device had been launched the same day. The child later told investigators that he had gone swimming with his mother in the lake and that the latter had helped him back on board. He then "turned around and saw her disappear beneath the surface of the water," said the sheriff.
