Grant Imahara has died of a brain aneurysm, The Hollywood Reporter reports Tuesday. The former presenter of the popular science program Mythbusters turned 49 years old.

Imahara would have died suddenly. "Our hearts are broken," said a Discovery spokesman, which produces Mythbusters . "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family."

The electrical and robot technician presented Mythbusters from the third season of the popular science program until 2014. Two years later, Imahara and his co-hosts Kari Byron reunited for a season for the Netflix technology program White Rabbit Project .

Imahara also worked for Lucasfilm. There, the American was responsible for moving dolls in the films The Matrix Reloaded , The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines .
