On the video, observers rather take it for a swordfish, with which it is often confused. But it is indeed a Mediterranean marlin that wandered around the port of Pointe Rouge, in Marseille. The images of divers and marine biologists from Septentrion Environnement are shared this Monday by the Calanques National Park.

He explains that the "spearfish", frequent in Italy, "is much rarer in France, all the more so close to the coast".

Recognizable in particular by the rostrum that extends its head, the marlin, known for its spectacular jumps, can reach up to 2.40 m in length and reach a speed of 110 km / h, like the cheetah on land.
