Apply for proper wage payment to childcare workers who are on leave with the new Corona 18:25 on July 13

The union has petitioned the Cabinet Office to take appropriate measures, saying that there are a number of cases in which leave allowances are not paid to childcare workers who have been forced to leave their jobs due to the new coronavirus.

I applied for a "nursing and childcare union", a labor union made up of childcare workers.

According to the union, since April this year, nursery teachers who have been forced to take a leave from work due to restrictions on the acceptance of children by nursery schools throughout the country will not be paid leave allowances. It means that about 320 cases have been received regarding consultations such as being forced to be treated as paid.

The Cabinet Office has issued a notice to pay the same amount of leave allowance as the wages for licensed nursery schools, etc. where the operating expenses including personnel expenses are paid by the national and local governments, but consultations are still being received. about it. For this reason, the request requires thorough notification to the business owners of daycare centers and strengthening the check function so that wages can be paid appropriately.

Kaori Miura, Co-Representative of Nursing Care and Child Care Union, said, “There is a concern that similar cases will increase if the infection spreads and the nursery school is closed again. I want the country to grasp the actual situation as soon as possible and take measures.” I was talking. In addition, a woman in her fifties who is the former director said, “I want many people to know that the tax that should be paid as personnel expenses is the benefit of the operating company of the nursery school, and the treatment improvement of the nursery teacher is left behind. I was talking."

On-site nursery teacher

A woman in her twenties who worked as a dispatched childcare worker at an authorized nursery school in Tokyo is one who was paid only 60% of her salary allowance.

The childcare center to which we dispatched reduced the number of children accepted from the beginning of April when the emergency was declared to the end of May, so the women were reduced from working in April for seven days. There was no explanation from the nursery school and temporary staff about payment of leave allowances during this period, and when they asked for payment, they were told that they could only pay 60% of their salary, and that their income decreased by about 30,000 yen.

The woman said, "I thought it was strange that the full amount of money was outsourced from the government as usual, but I couldn't pay the full amount."

The woman joined the trade union, negotiated, and finally paid the same amount as her salary, but after that, she was told that she would not be able to renew her contract, and that she was suspended from employment by the end of June. is. The woman said, “I was distrusted when I was told that there were no leave allowances or that I would only pay 60%. I was confused in the first situation of the declaration of emergency, but would I be paid? I was more uneasy with the unfamiliar nursery teacher. The country would urge the nursery school to pay the salary as usual."
