10 producers selected for the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo, July 13 16:04
For the "Osaka-Kansai Expo" that will be held in 2025, the exhibition association, which is the implementing body, has decided on 10 producers who will plan the venue and will be in charge of the production.
The Expo Association held a press conference in Osaka city on the 13th and announced the producers of the Expo. A total of 10 people were selected, including movie director Naomi Kawase, media artist Yoichi Ochiai, and Professor Hiroaki Miyata of Keio University School of Medicine.
The producers are the commanding tower of the Expo, so to speak, to plan the concept of the Expo site and pavilion, and to carry out the exhibition and production.
Naomi Kawase, who was born in Nara Prefecture, said, “We want to make the Kansai Expo 2025 World Expo where we can convey the fun and diversity of the Kansai region to the world, while everything is concentrated in the Tokyo metropolitan area.”
In addition, Hiroyuki Ishige, Secretary-General of the Expo Association, said, "Today, the producers have decided that the preparation activities have entered a full-scale stage. It will be a time of competition."
