The first thing that catches your eyes is the wooden hydrangea, the flowers are clumped, and the flower branches are bent, and you walk through the red brick arches and the stone-paved paths that are not beautiful, and you can see the two sides are blooming at a glance All kinds of flowers: the gorgeous Yumei is blooming, you may even doubt their true or false; the echinacea, cleome and fountain Pennisetum in the summer are warmer than the sun; When you touch your hand, the feel of Stipa velvet is super good; the smell of Qilixiang drifts away from afar, and the floral fragrance is rich...

The gardens of Heidi and Lulu are located in Peng Town, Shuangliu District, Chengdu, covering an area of five acres. It is a "fairytale world" created by a mother gardener for two daughters. The owner of the garden is 42 years old, whose real name is Qiu Yamin, and is affectionately known as Haima. She was invited to participate in the 2019 Global Women Entrepreneurs Conference and arranged flowers with Ma Yun. She planted more than 2,000 kinds of plants in her garden and created more than ten themed gardens. The garden is free for visitors, and the flowers are colorful and colorful all year round.

Before 2008, Haima went to work in the computer city. In her words, when she walked into the building, the spring, summer, autumn and winter seasons outside the window changed, but she was unaware. Coupled with the "5.12" Wenchuan Earthquake, she also had a new perspective on life, so she decided to devote herself to her passion for gardening.

"Although I'm sunburnt now and I'm more than ten times more tired than before, I think I'm still very happy. Now the four seasons are within reach for me and my family." Hai Ma said.

During the outbreak, Haima’s social media did not stop changing. Sending uninterrupted photos of the garden, opening live broadcasts, and interacting with flower friends all over the country... "During the epidemic, many people's moods are actually very low, so I think that during this special period, we should start at the spiritual level. The role of social leadership."

Growing in nature, the daughters are the "chief designers"

In the beginning, Heidi and Lulu's garden was actually called Heidi's garden. Heidi was the name of Haima's eldest daughter. After having a little daughter Lulu, Heidi took the initiative to tell Haima that she wanted to add the sister's name to the garden, so she now has "Heidi and Lulu's garden".

Heidi and Lulu's largest garden designers are actually Heidi and Lulu, not Haima. At the age of five, Heidi drew the design drawings of the rose garden and the magic garden, while the idea and design of the dinosaur garden and the children’s playground of the garden library under construction came from the gurgling. Hai Ma said: "The daughters will give me a lot of ideas, because people will solidify their thinking after they reach adulthood, and their thinking is completely unlimited. They are very cute and cute."

Haima hopes that the garden is a classroom for children’s natural education, and Heidi and Lulu are basically in the garden as long as they are on vacation. They will plant their own plants in the garden and will be in harmony with the small animals and insects in the garden. Coexist. "Actually, I think that the children who grew up in the garden are not different from other children in nature. They are like ordinary children who love to watch TV and play mobile phones, but I think the biggest difference may be insight. And creativity." Especially Lulu, the youngest daughter of Haima, has a strong insight from an early age. When looking at a picture book, she can even observe the color of the stamens in the flowers on the picture book. When writing his own name, Heidi will decorate his name and even tell a story. "I think growing up in the garden can subtly affect the creativity and observation of children." Hai Ma said.

Gardening, right next to us

Since 2012, Haima has given herself a holiday every year, bringing her family and flying to gardens around the world. Now she has visited more than 300 gardens in Britain, the Netherlands, Japan, Canada, the United States, Switzerland, New Zealand and other countries. This year, she planned to go to Italy and South Africa because of the epidemic and postponed her trip, planning to go to the west of Sichuan in the near future.

"I have gone to so many well-known gardens abroad, the Wesley Garden in the United Kingdom and the Chicago Botanic Garden... What I like is actually the story behind the garden. The flower friends have been working and plowing continuously for more than a decade or two. I have a Good friend, she planted a flower for 13 or 14 years, and she planted plants in her very small garden. It can be said that flowers are open for 365 days. Although this may not be from the perspective of garden landscape It’s beautiful, but its abundance and enjoyment of life and life far exceed the large garden." Hai Ma shared.

In foreign countries, every holiday, you can see family and friends meeting in the garden and botanical garden, laying a picnic cloth under the big tree, sitting on the big lawn, sharing the food they bring, bursts of laughter and laughter. Hai Ma said: "Gardening actually interacts with and resonates with people. The most important thing is not the potted flower and the tree itself, but the things that happened while we were accompanied and the memories we made. This is the charm of gardening. ."

Haima believes that gardening is everywhere. "Actually, gardening does not necessarily have to have its own garden. From another point of view, flower arrangement is also a'small garden', which is concentrated with all the flowers you can see this season. Whether you are planting a pot of flowers or inserting flowers A beautiful flower arrangement and a pot of green plants are essentially the same as Prince Charles’ ten thousand acre garden. They are all happy, and there is no difference in art or size."

The garden library will open from scratch

"Many people think that gardeners are covered in mud and they are'low rib people'. In traditional Chinese culture, on the one hand, literati and scholars are passionate about floral art, and think that floral art is very dignified, on the other hand, they think it is earthy. The person dealing with is a farmer. Of course, the farmer is not a derogatory term. My family is also a farmer." When it comes to people's prejudice against gardening, Haima is very helpless.

Because it was found that many people still have a big prejudice against gardening, in 2018, Haimai developed the idea of building a garden library that popularizes gardening knowledge and flower art, and began construction in 2019.

The Garden Library consists of a library with an area of about 200 square meters, a garden of more than 1,000 square meters, and an annex of more than 100 square meters. At present, the main building of the Garden Library has been completed, and will be surrounded by various flowers, and will be free for gardening enthusiasts across the country.

When Haima travels around the world, she usually brings two large suitcases, one of which is empty, all used to hold original floral books bought abroad. Since then, her original books will be placed in the Garden Library for readers to borrow. In addition to foreign gardening books, she will also contact domestic publishing houses to purchase related books. By then, the library collection is expected to reach 10,000 volumes.

"Gardening is actually a sharing process. Before, a customer from Guangzhou bought flowers from my house and went back to planting. The first time I didn’t grow, I couldn’t be reconciled, and the second time I planted it particularly well. It even led 92 households in their community. People plant flowers together." Haima was particularly moved at the time, which was actually one of the reasons why she built the garden library, because it had the opportunity to sprinkle a seed on children and adults, and one day, the seeds will germinate. "Now I often say to me that it is because I started to grow flowers. I still have a sense of accomplishment in my heart. I hope that China's gardening development will have its own strength in the future, so I decided to be a garden library." Haima built the garden library also to change the stereotype of “not bright” and “unrespectable” in people’s minds. “I hope that when the garden library is built, people will come here and think that gardening is beautiful and healing. , Very interesting, I can share and spend quality time with my family, so I am very happy."

"Actually, this industry doesn't seem to be as bright as it looks. The bright is the garden, not the people behind it. The people behind are actually disgraced. What everyone likes is not me, but plants, I am a very ordinary The fat man who is not very visible in the crowd." When talking about everyone's love for her, Hai Ma said with a smile.

Although in China, gardening has not yet fully developed. But Haima believes that the seeds of gardening have already taken root in people's hearts, and they will soon emerge.
