It is understood that Xiangjiang Happy City was originally a huge mine with a depth of 100 meters and an area of nearly 180,000 square meters left by Pingtang, an industrial town in the suburbs of Changsha. Because of the rich resources such as limestone and silica sand, tens of thousands of people's livelihood employment has been solved in the past half a century, but high energy consumption, high mining, and high pollution have also severely damaged the ecology and living environment.
Liao Wenbin, head of the Xiangjiang Happy City project of Hunan Xiangjiang Group, told reporters that in order to achieve the transformation of the old industrial base into a green new city, Hunan’s first world-class large-scale comprehensive tourism industry project, Xiangjiang Happy City, came into being. However, because the project itself is suspended above the pit, the construction is extremely difficult, and it is almost regarded as an "impossible project" by the outside world.

Our project itself is built on a mine pit, and in the case of limestone geological conditions, more than 85% of our pile foundation construction and underground tenon construction encountered karst rock, fissures, quicksand, and Yinhe River, all of which we have Encountered, and later we couldn't find a construction unit for the Three Gorges dam to do the construction for us through comprehensive comparison. It was successful.
[Explanation] Liao Wenbin said that the project has completed the ecological restoration of the pit and turned into a "ice kingdom", not only a clear water and blue sky on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River, but also a new place for Changsha and the surrounding people to travel and escape from the heat. At present, there are countless deep pits in the country, but now there are only three completed rectifications. The first is the Deep Pit Hotel in Shanghai, the second is the Tianyan in Guizhou, and the third is our Xiangjiang Happy City. This is still of great reference significance for our country to carry out ecological restoration, urban governance, and urban restoration.
