　　It is understood that the crime of ill-treatment of guardians and caregivers is a newly added offence in the Criminal Law Amendment (IX). This crime is one of Article 260 of the Criminal Law, which clearly states: "For minors, elderly people, sick people, Persons with disabilities, such as persons with guardianship and care responsibilities, who abuse the persons under guardianship and care, are in bad circumstances and shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or detention."

　　"As for what is a bad situation, it should be comprehensively judged based on the circumstances of abuse, frequency, duration, consequences, and social impact shown in the specific case." Prosecutor of the Third Prosecution Department of Chaoyang District Procuratorate Zhou Li analyzed.
