  At the end of 2018, the speech that the film and television industry entered the "winter" constantly appeared. Entering 2019, industry adjustments are also reflected in the number of works. The communique shows that in 2019, 254 TV series and 10,600 episodes will be produced and distributed nationwide. In terms of quantity, it has decreased compared with 323 in 2018 and 13,700 episodes.

  A total of 211,100 TV series were broadcast nationwide, which was also a decrease of 65,500 from 2018. The production time of TV programs for film and television dramas was 120,300 hours, a year-on-year increase of 2.12%. The broadcast time of TV shows in TV series was 8.484 million hours, a year-on-year increase of 3.21%.

  Unlike TV series, documentaries and cartoons have increased accordingly. In 2019, there were 84,500 hours of documentary production nationwide, an increase of 11.33% year-on-year, and 501,900 hours of broadcast time, an increase of 12.36% year-on-year. A total of 305 television cartoons with 94,700 minutes were produced and distributed nationwide, the production time increased by 9.86% year-on-year, and the broadcast time of television animation was 398,700 hours, an increase of 6.46% year-on-year.

  Radio and television programs have also entered an adjustment period. Overall, radio programs have remained stable, and TV program production time has declined.

  The communiqué shows that the production time of national broadcast programs in 2019 is 8.187 million hours, which is basically the same as that in 2018; the broadcast time is 15.534 million hours, an increase of 1.75% year-on-year. The production time of TV programs was 3.4558 million hours, down 3.40% year-on-year; the broadcast time was 19.599 million hours, up 1.35% year-on-year.

  In terms of classification, the production time of special service TV programs and the production and broadcast time of variety shows have declined. The production time of special service TV programs was 870,300 hours, a year-on-year decrease of 3.00%, and the broadcast time was 2,562,200 hours, which was basically the same as that in 2018.

  Variations in variety shows are more obvious. In 2019, the production time of variety TV programs in China was 399,800 hours, down 8.95% year-on-year, and the broadcast time was 1.30.5 million hours, down 8.21% year-on-year. The social benefits of variety shows are given top priority, and original, healthy and culturally original shows have become a new trend.

  On the other hand, the production and broadcast time of rural programs continued to increase, and publicity reports on poverty alleviation were strengthened. The growth time also includes the broadcast time of national children's radio and television programs and the production and broadcast time of public service advertising programs.

Online audiovisual revenue exceeds 170 billion yuan in 2019

In 2019, the number of online dramas has declined, but both online audiovisual paying users and online audiovisual revenue have increased substantially.

  The communique mentioned that 620 online audio-visual service institutions with licenses and records nationwide purchased 1911 new online purchases and self-made online dramas, a year-on-year decrease of 10.41%. Among them, 498 self-made online dramas were added, a year-on-year decrease of 16.02%. The production and upload program (UGC) stock of users of online audiovisual institutions reached 1.673 billion, an increase of 61.64% year-on-year.

  The number of online audiovisual paying users reached 547 million, a significant increase compared to 347 million in 2018. In 2019, the total revenue of the national broadcast and television industry was 810.745 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.62%. Among them, the network audio-visual income of certification and filing agencies continues to grow, and has become a new force in the development of the radio and television industry.

  The communiqué shows that the network audiovisual income of the certificate holders and the filing institutions is 173.818 billion yuan, an increase of 111.31% year-on-year. Among online audiovisual revenues: revenues from services such as user payment and program copyrights grew rapidly, reaching 60.928 billion yuan, an increase of 172.07% year-on-year; short-term video, e-commerce live broadcast and other revenues increased significantly, reaching 11.2890 billion yuan, an increase of 88.58% year-on-year.
