At the same time, the artist has not completely removed his director's cap. Asked about the question by Pascale Clark in "Media Culture", Grand Corps Malade confirmed that he would release a new series after having "almost signed" with a broadcaster. As he is used to behind the camera, after having notably directed the film  School life , Grand Corps Malade will be supported in this adventure by his faithful friend Medhi Idir, known as "Minos", and Youssef Hajdi, who will play the main role .

A first in the world of series

The series, entitled "Youssef", is described by the 42-year-old director as "a pure comedy a little crossed in the middle of the stand-up". A first for the slammer who had never worked until then for the small screen. "A series is still a little longer to shoot than a film. Obviously, with a format of 8 or 10 episodes of 30 minutes, there is more time to focus on the small details, to come back to things , develop certain characters in depth. But it still looks like a movie, roughly speaking. "

Patience all the same, since the series should see the light of day in more than a year. "We could film this winter, but we don't want to. Winter is boring, it's cold," laughs Grand Corps Malade before revealing some clues about the release date. "We are going to wait for spring to start. The time to mount it all afterwards, it will not be released until the end of 2021."

"I really want to go back on stage"

As if that was not enough for her busy schedule, the artist revealed to Pascale Clark "continue to write ideas", always with Mehdi Idir, for the development of a new film. He just agreed to reveal that it would be a man's biopic.

Grand Corps Malade never stops since it also announced to prepare a musical tour for 2021, when the health situation linked to the coronavirus will be better "and that people will be glued to each other". "I really want to go back on stage with this album Ladies . We will play new songs, but also older ones," he explains.
