In Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, the Regional Health Agency is still observing signs demonstrating the presence of Covid-19 on the territory. “The number of deaths, hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care are still falling. But there are still active clusters and worrying situations which show that the virus is still circulating, ”said Anne-Sophie Ronnaux-Baron, head of the regional health monitoring center at ARS , at 20 minutes .
In the region, nine outbreaks were identified Thursday morning, including three deemed worrying by the authorities. "These are the ones who have a high level of criticality," adds the doctor. Clusters that are more difficult to control therefore, due to the multitude of contact cases to be found and / or the difficulty in having screening tests carried out and respecting the "fortnight" necessary in the event of suspicion to avoid the spread of the virus.
Screenings not always performed
In Allier and Puy-de-Dôme, an important cluster is underway in the community of Travelers. "This follows festive gatherings," adds Anne-Sophie Ronnaux-Baron. In the two departments, 23 positive cases were confirmed and 426 contact cases identified by the authorities. For three quarters of these people, the tests carried out were negative. However, the cluster is not under control since for the remaining quarter, doubts may not be resolved. “We don't think these people will be tested. It is highly recommended, but we cannot impose it, ”recalls the ARS.
Between the Rhône and the Ain, another alert situation. Since June 16, 21 cases of coronavirus have been recorded after an airplane flight. One of the passengers tested positive for Covid shortly after returning to the region. Subsequent screenings with relatives confirmed that the virus had circulated, mainly in his family. According to the ARS, the mask being mandatory during flights, the risk of spreading to other passengers is low enough not to have required massive screening. In Ain, finally, another cluster is being closely monitored. After a family reunion, sixteen cases of Covid appeared in three families.
