The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has issued a safety warning related to the "lM-9001" remote thermometer produced by the Chinese company, Shenzhen, due to the appearance of inaccurate body temperature readings.

The authority pointed out that the defect in the model "IM-9001", which did not obtain a marketing permit from the Food and Drug Authority in Saudi Arabia, according to the newspaper "Okaz."

The authority indicated that it "took measures in coordination with the competent authorities to follow up on withdrawing the device from the markets and preventing its circulation and taking regular measures against violators."

The authority urged consumers not to use the device, go to the sales outlet from which the device was purchased to retrieve its value, and notify the Ministry of Commerce complaints if the seller did not respond to the request for retrieval.

It called on citizens to report any accidents or problems suspected to be related to medical devices or products through the authority's unified call center.
