He will be God's candidate for the White House. Kanye West assured Forbes magazine on Wednesday that he no longer supports Donald Trump in the US presidential election in November and questioned the ability of Democrat Joe Biden to mobilize the black electorate. In this long interview done by phone, the billionaire rapper acknowledges that he starts racing at the last minute and that he will make a final decision within a month.

"We have been talking about it for years," he explains in reference to his presidential ambitions, revealed on Saturday in a tweet, and to his two main supporters: his wife Kim Kardashian and the fanciful boss of Tesla Elon Musk.

A new party called "Birth Day"

"Let's see if the appointment is for 2020 or for 2024, because it is God who appoints the president," says the rapper who has become closer to religion in recent months. "If it is 2020, then I would have been appointed by God". With no structure in place, he gives no details on his campaign, but assures that he no longer supports the republican billionaire after having been one of his most fervent supporters, in particular by wearing in 2018 a red cap with the presidential slogan "Make America Great Again ”in the Oval Office.

"I take off the red cap with this interview," he explains to Forbes , adding that he will be the candidate of a new party called "Birth Day".

Joe Biden did not comment

But he avoids criticizing the current tenant of the White House, except on his management of the movement of anger against racism which has spread for two months in the country, fueling the suspicions of a candidacy intended to disturb that of Joe Biden, currently leading the national polls.

"To say that the black vote is democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy", affirms Kanye West, by recognizing that he would not hesitate to deprive the ex-vice president of the voices of the black minority which votes in majority for the Democrats. Donald Trump deemed this surprise candidacy to be “interesting” while believing that the 2024 election should be his real goal. Joe Biden did not comment on Kanye West's announcement.
