On the morning of the 8th, the scaffold collapsed greatly at the construction site of the new government building of Kashiwara City Hall in Osaka, and it was covered with the JR Yamato line passing by. It is believed to be the effect of strong winds.

JR is working on the removal of the fallen scaffolding, but the recovery is expected to be on the 8th, at 10 pm or later at the earliest.

At 5:00 am on the 8th, at a construction site of a new government building in Kashiwara City Hall in Osaka, a person living nearby reported to the police that the scaffold had collapsed.

The scaffolding that stood on the side of the building was about 20 meters high and 70 meters wide, and it collapsed to cover the JR Yamato line passing by.

No one was injured.

Due to the impact of this accident, the Yamato line is being suspended between Oji station and JR Namba station.

JR is dismantling the collapsed scaffolding and proceeding with the removal work, but it is said that the restoration will be at least 8 days after 10 pm.

According to the city hall, construction started in November of last year and was working on building the skeleton of the building.

According to the Osaka District Meteorological Observatory, at that time the wind intensified with heavy rain in Osaka Prefecture, and at Osaka Yao Airport near Kashiwara City, a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 24.7 meters was observed at 4:59 am.

Police are investigating the scaffolding, which was hit by strong winds, as it collapsed.

Hideki Kirito, director of the General Affairs Department of Kashiwara City, said, "Fortunately, no human casualties have been confirmed, but I am very sorry that it has had a major impact on public transportation. It will take a while for the restoration. We have received reports that this is the case. We would like to thoroughly implement safety management in anticipation of the coming typhoon."
