11:15 Beijing time on the 8th news:

On the morning of July 8th, due to continuous rainfall, the Huaning High School campus in Huangmei County, Huanggang District, Hubei Province, experienced severe waterlogging, with a water depth of more than 1 meter. Hundreds of students who participated in this year's college entrance examination are trapped in schools and are in dire need of transfer.

In the early morning of the 8th, the maximum rainfall of Huangmei exceeded 200 mm, and the local waterlogging was more serious. The water in the Huaning High School in Huangmei County reached more than one meter deep at around 4 am, and 576 students who participated in this year's college entrance examination were trapped in the school. The personnel of the relevant local departments rushed to the scene immediately, first organized the fire department to use kayak to enter the school and transfer the trapped students. However, due to heavy rainfall, the water level is constantly rising, and the power to rescue the kayak assault boat is not enough, which affects the transfer speed. So rescuers organized large forklifts, taking turns to transfer candidates to campus.

As of 11:30 in the morning, the last student was transferred out, and they immediately took the long-awaited bus to the college entrance examination place to participate in the college entrance examination. (Wu Shaojun, CCTV reporter)
