The 87 edition of the popular "Dream of Red Mansions" sand painting

In China, sand painting is a relatively minor art form. Fang Langlang used sand to paint, photographed the process at the same time, and finally performed video post-production.

The hot search is an 87 version of "Dream of Red Mansions" sand painting video. A few years ago, he was thinking about "reforming" four masterpieces in the form of sand painting, but he has not been able to put it into practice.

"It's very long and has a lot of content. It's hard to show in a few minutes of sand painting video." In May of this year, he spent time watching TV series again, and finally selected a representative shot to prepare for construction.

He originally wanted to use black and white raw sand, which was a bit nostalgic. "But the costumes in the play can reflect the characteristics of the characters. Wang Xifeng's gorgeous clothes also just illustrate her straightforward and strong personality. Finally, she chose Caisha."

The plot is complicated, and the paintings are mostly group portraits. This sand painting video took Fang Langlang 15 days. After the video was posted on the Internet, a large number of netizens quickly attracted “onlookers”. As the author, Fang Langlang also followed the fire.

Is sand painting simple? Not

Sprinkle a handful of sand and smear a few times with your hands... The sand painting in the eyes of the audience is very simple, Fang Langlang doesn't think so. Sand painting needs more control than the pen, and it also depends on the thickness of the sand to express the relationship between light and shadow. A little carelessness will lead to distortion of the effect.

Using colored sand as raw material, the creative process will be more complicated. For example, a red dress with small yellow flowers on it requires the sand painter to pull out a little red sand and then cover it with yellow sand, which requires extremely high precision.

"The sand paintings are continuous. When combined to represent a scene or story, there must be a certain consistency. The original color sand can borrow the previous picture, but some parts of the color sand must be erased, and it is difficult to transition." Fang Langlang explained that it is necessary to make an overall idea before creating, which parts to erase and which parts are suitable for retention.

Some netizens once said to Fang Langlang, Can sand paintings be preserved? It's a pity to wipe it off.

"The sand paintings I am creating now are "improvements" based on the original sand paintings, using the video form, which is also a kind of preservation of sand paintings," he said.

The classic film and television drama in the art of sand painting

The 87 edition of "Dream of Red Mansions" is actually not the first classic film and television drama that Fang Langlang painted as a sand painting.

He is a post-90s. In the past two years, I have become more and more fond of some old songs and more and more miss the previous film and television drama works, often "swipe again and again".

"After time has settled, many film and television dramas have become classics. Recalling the situation of the'people empty alley' chasing dramas as a child, I plan to reproduce them in the form of sand paintings and bring everyone to the situation of the year." In Fang Langlang's eyes , This is also a memorial.

Fang Langlang has not remembered which movie and TV drama sand painting he first created. In short, about three years ago, he began to carry out his plan more systematically. The movie and TV dramas involved are martial arts and romantic.

In "Eternal Dragon Sword", he painted Zhang Wuji, Zhao Min, Zhou Zhiruo, etc., all of which are alive and well; in "Big Journey to the West", he painted the image of Supreme Treasure wearing a gold hoop...Many movies and TV shows get another kind here Form of presentation.

After the video of the sand painting was posted on Weibo, Fang Langlang sometimes flipped through the comments below, and took a look at the feedback to make improvements. Second, I also looked forward to finding a kind of resonance in the words of netizens. Every time he sees someone agree, he will be very happy.

In a fast-paced society, sand painting has no future?

If we first contacted with sand painting for the first time in our senior year, Fang Langlang had been in contact with this art for almost six years.

"I was a little confused when doing the graduation project. A teacher gave me an idea and let me try the sand animation." Fang Langlang agreed. But at first it was a bit overwhelming. When I was most distressed, I wanted to run back to the dormitory just after painting a little.

After two or three months, his creation was on track and finally graduated successfully. After working, the boss learned about Fang Langlang's specialty, and he asked him to help the company to make a film. "Probably I also think there is some market for sand painting."

Later, Fang Langlang had his own studio. Considering the audience and the market, he first painted portraits of people, including some traffic stars, "I still want to draw some stories quietly. So I have a series of sand paintings in film and television dramas."

In a fast-paced society, this may not be a good choice. "Some popular videos are less than ten seconds. If it takes a long time, people will be impatient and less likely to see." A "sand animation" often takes a few minutes. Fang Langlang is not sure if he can get attention.

He is also planning for the future. "In the future, I will mainly draw on the theme of film and television dramas. Others will also involve a little. If possible, I want to make something truly original." (End)
