The birth of "Hybrid Weather Forecast" will start in 1979.

At that time coincided with the initial stage of reform and opening up, Wang Shiping, who was then the leader of the Central Meteorological Observatory, went to Japan to investigate. In a noisy izakaya, a program suddenly calmed everyone down.

On the screen, a young man pointed to a map behind to explain the weather. Outside the screen, people watched TV in unison and did not continue to drink and chat until a few minutes of explanation.

This surprised Wang Shiping, so on his way back to China, after discussing with the delegation, he decided to "engage" this wide-ranging and easy-to-understand television weather forecast service.

On July 7, 1980, after many consultations between the former State Meteorological Administration and CCTV, the "Weather Forecast" program appeared on CCTV's "Newscast". The first generation host came from the Central Meteorological Observatory, one was the weather forecaster Han Jiangang, and the other was Li Yuan from the meteorological observatory drawing room.

In the first one and a half months, as soon as the data from the Central Meteorological Observatory came out at 17:00 in the afternoon, the program team would immediately change the professional terminology to a plain and easy-to-understand television language, and then the two presenters rushed to the center with the manuscripts that had not been dried out. TV stations, as soon as "Newscast" is over, they will immediately broadcast the "weather forecast".

At that time, the conditions were poor and the technology was backward. The background of the broadcast is a gray pleated screen, and the camera equipment is an old one-inch machine of the TV station. The content of the broadcast is mainly the national weather situation, the weather forecast of a few major cities, and special weather warnings.

Han Jiangang later recalled that there were no current cold-light lamps in the live broadcast room. Several headlights turned on for more than forty degrees. However, for live recording, fans could not be turned on, often sweating.

In the impression of many people, whenever they hear the music of "The Fishing Boat Singing Evening", they will think of "Weather Forecast".

In fact, the choice of this piece of music was initially called "accident". At that time, the program ushered in a major change and was independently produced by the Meteorological Department. When choosing a background music, everyone was slow to make up their minds. In the end, the keyboard version of "The Fishing Boat Singing Evening" recommended by Qu Shengpu was unanimously approved.

No one expected that this song would be a symbol of "Weather Forecast" for decades after it was broadcast. Qu Shengpu later said that at the time of the election, it just felt that the song was "happy and not tumultuous."

The other iconic character in Weather Forecast is Song Yingjie.

On March 1, 1993, the host of the meteorological program began to walk from behind the scenes to the CCTV TV screen. The picture shows the popular weather host Song Yingjie

He wrapped the tape with a small paper tube and made a temporary "indicator rod". It took Within a week, he became familiar with the "blind finger".

With a professional background, intellectual image and natural witty language style, Song Yingjie soon became a household name and was called "Mr. Breath".

Song Yingjie said the first public apology for "Weather Forecast".

On December 12, 1999, combined with the forecast data from the Meteorological Department, the program team considered that a very weak cold air would begin to enter the North China region that night, but the water vapor conditions were not very good, so the North China region was forecasted to have on the 13th North winds of grade 4 to 5 are difficult to snowfall.

But the next day, Song Yingjie opened the curtains and looked snowy outside. He publicly apologized on the 13th program, "Yesterday we noticed that there will be a weak cold air affecting North China, and it was also forecasted to be windy, but the possibility of snowfall is underestimated, so today we have been thinking A deep apology. Only by summing up every mistake can we make the weather forecast more accurate and satisfy people."
