A whole symbol. The protective barriers installed in front of the town hall of Marseille were removed on Tuesday morning. Benoit Payan, new first deputy of Michèle Rubiola, elected Saturday first mayor of Marseille, explains: “This [Tuesday] morning we had the barriers removed around the Town Hall. This is the policy we want to pursue during our mandate: to return Marseille to the Marseillaises and the Marseillais. From today, we will be keen to bring citizens closer to the decision-making places that concern them! "

These protective barriers had been installed following the tragedy in the rue d'Aubagne, when eight Marseillais died in the collapse of their buildings. Several demonstrations had taken place, ending in front of the town hall of Marseille.
