Recently, a young cadre residing in the village of Shayipo Township, Jinping County, Yunnan Province saw two chick-sized "owl" cubs flapping their wings and making a weak chirp in the grass beside the road. So, he contacted the local forest police brigade in time and handed over two baby birds to the police.

After identification, these two "owl" baby birds are spot-headed bullbirds, which have been included in the "IUCN" Red List of Endangered Species in 2012, and belong to the national second-level key protected wildlife.

Afterwards, the police brought the two baby birds back to the Jinping County Forest Police Brigade, where they were carefully fed and healed. After they had grown out of flying feathers, they were released to nature.
