The Russian scientist and physician Alexander Miyasnikov announced yesterday that what is being circulated about the many benefits of mushrooms and considering it a substitute for meat is unfounded, indicating that it is dangerous and unhelpful.

According to Miyasnikov, many people believe that mushrooms are a good source of protein, and this is also not true, as it contains only 3% of the protein, according to Sputnik.

In addition, the body does not absorb it well due to the presence of large amounts of ketin (the main compound of the sides of the fungi cell which is the rigid structure that covers insect bodies and many arthropods and some animals).

He pointed out that the most harmful properties of the fungus are its ability to absorb harmful substances from the soil, which can be transferred to the human body after ingestion.

"All the vitamins in the mushrooms disappear after heat treatment (frying or boiling), but all the harmful substances from the soil, including salts of heavy metals, remain," said Mayasnikov.

The Russian doctor advised to eat green beans, because it contains healthy fats, proteins and antioxidants.
