Among the productions that can now be performed on location in New Zealand are James Cameron's follow-ups to the sci-fi classic Avatar and the second season of Amazon's fantasy series The Legend of the Ring, set before the plot in the first part of JRR Tolkien's trilogy.

Other productions that have been licensed include Jane Campion's drama Power of the Dog with Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst, as well as the next season of the popular children's series Power Rangers.

In total, there are 206 people who are now allowed to enter the country, along with another 35 family members, to record films and series, provided they quarantine themselves for the first time.
