Ennio Morricone died at the age of 91. The Italian composer died in a hospital in Rome from the consequences of a fall, writes the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera .

In his career, Morricone composed over 500 soundtracks for films and television. His works include songs for such films as Once Upon A Time In The West , The Untouchables and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly .

For his work on the film The Hateful Eight , Morricone received a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award.

Morricone performed in a sold out Ziggo Dome in 2015. Reviewers then responded positively.
