For Neil Young, it's still no. The rock star again refuses to let his music be used in an event linked to Donald Trump.

The Neil Young Archives Twitter account retweeted a video showing the song Rockin'in the Free World played at a meeting of the President in Mount Rushmore. "It does NOT suit me," writes the account, with the negation in capital letters:

This is NOT ok with me ... https://t.co/Q9j9NRPMhi

Repeated use

It is not the first time that Neil Young has protested against the use of his music by Donald Trump. In 2015 already the American president had allowed himself to use his title Rockin 'In The Free World to announce his candidacy. He did it again in 2018, prompting the musician to say, "DT doesn't have my permission to use Rockin 'In The Free World. Legally, he has the right to do it, but it goes against what I want. "

Adele, REM, the Rolling Stones, Queen… Many artists have also denounced the use of their works during republican rallies.

In another tweet posted a minute later, the account linked to Neil Young also expressed solidarity with the Lakota Sioux, who live in the Black Hills, where Mount Rushmore was carved. There were erected the faces of four American presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, in the sacred Native American land, which is considered an affront to them.
