The Pellegrin University Hospital Center (CHU) in Bordeaux - Mickaël Bosredon / 20 Minutes

  • In addition to the cluster identified in Bordeaux, the ARS manages a cluster of greater importance in the Landes and another in Corrèze.
  • As a reminder, a cluster is identified when at least three cases are revealed in a grouped space over a period of seven days.
  • Despite this situation, the ARS reports only an average of 50 new cases of Covid-19 per week in the region.

A new cluster (or grouped cases) has been identified in Bordeaux. The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Health Agency confirmed this Sunday at 20 Minutes that after the discovery of a positive case on June 29, “the contact tracing device that followed identified 23 contact persons; As of July 5, 19 of these people have been removed, two returned positive. The last four "contacts" must be collected this Monday, July 6. “So far we have three positive cases around this situation. "

As a reminder, a cluster is a spatio-temporal grouping of at least three positive cases over a period of seven days.

Thirteen positive SARS-CoV-2 PCRs at the #covid screening unit of @CHUBordeaux this week (without taking into account patients with chest scanners suspected of Covid infection). These numbers are increasing. Prevention messages must be repeated over and over 😷! https://t.co/A1CtQuvygw

17 positive cases in the Landes

The ARS also manages two other ongoing clusters in the region, in the Landes and in Corrèze. In the Landes, a first case of Covid-19 was detected on Monday June 29 as well, within the framework of a hospitalization at the Mont-de-Marsan hospital center, indicates the prefecture. The ARS indicates this Sunday at 20 minutes that “the same day the epidemiological investigations and contact tracing began. Two waves of screenings then took place: a first with 58 people sampled and 13 positive results, a second with 122 people sampled and 3 positive results. “As of July 5, no new cases have been reported, so there are 17 positive cases for this cluster. »Positive cases are isolated in a holiday center and negative contact risk cases are isolated in a hotel. Other investigations are expected to continue earlier this week.

»Low noise« circulation of SARS-CoV 2

In Corrèze, the first Covid-19 positive case was revealed on July 2. This was followed by the launch of epidemiological investigations and contact tracing in the professional environment of this person, which made it possible to identify 13 people as contacts. The 12 samples taken were all negative. On the other hand, in his personal environment, 27 people were identified as contacts, 4 of whom were positive at this stage. “The investigations are continuing around the positive cases detected. We are therefore 5 positive cases for the moment. "All had participated in a party, bringing together twenty people, reports France Bleu.

The ARS adds, however, that “we currently have" low noise "circulation of SARS-CoV 2 in the region, with an average of 50 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 per week. "The agency however calls for vigilance" with the arrival of the summer period and life which is gradually resuming. "

“Barrier measures and social distancing remain topical, as is the wearing of a mask. The threat of clusters remains throughout the territory. "
