At 15:58 on July 2, the Jiangsu Taicang Maritime Bureau received an alarm, and a "Lujining Cargo 0817" cargo ship sank in distress in the Yangtze River. Two crew members on board fell into the water and were in danger of life at any time.
After receiving the police, the Taicang Maritime Bureau immediately dispatched 4 law enforcement ships to the scene. At that time, the southeast wind of Taicang section of the Yangtze River was 4-5, and the surface of the river was surging. It was very difficult for the maritime boat to get close to the people who fell into the water. After ten minutes of fighting with the wind and waves in the river, at 16:11, the two people who finally fell into the water were successfully rescued.
It is reported that the "Lujining Cargo 0817" ship is an ordinary dry cargo ship with a length of 45.9 meters and 2 crew members on board, carrying engineering earthwork. The voyage is from Shanghai to Nantong. At present, the cause of the accident is under further investigation.
