There are those who think that holding a massive concert in Madrid is, at the moment, like traveling to the center of a volcano. Nothing could be further from reality: this Friday at WiZink was to stand up to not only the virus, but also the confinement. Loquillo and his family took care, with all the care (and desire) in the world, to kill the silence of Madrid.

Post-pandemic  rock is one in which the fan carries a glass of beer in one hand and hydroalcohol in the other. The leopard and the leather got the competition of the latex of the gloves and the masks with the printed Crazy Bird . 

As faithful at a ceremony, the audience carefully took their seats. It was not for less: the last classic returned to the place that guided the lives and dreams of many Madrilenians. Under the roof of the WiZink, fever is allowed to break out.

Despite the fact that the capacity was reduced to 10% of lucky people (about 1,700 spectators), it was evident that the masks tighten but do not drown: the choruses of a public finally released rumbled as in the old normality. Little would have lasted the cobwebs to the flag of the Real Madrid .

With the roar of the first decibel the illusion returned. It has never been so simple and at the same time so difficult to get the public out of their seats, which has a hitherto unknown merit. Some have managed to develop the ability to dance and jump in the space of a tile during confinement. Even if he doesn't have anyone to share his frenzy in two meters around.

Tribute to the victims

Loquillo selected his great classics for one of his most anomalous concerts: On the streets of Madrid, Carne para Linda, El Rey del Glam, Feo, strong and formal, Crossing paradise ... The event, which was almost a rebirth, was organized by the Madrid Food Bank and all proceeds will go to charitable purposes.

The artist also dedicated a few words of remembrance to the victims of the coronavirus and to all those who disappeared in recent months. Tearfully, he remembered two good friends: Almudena Sánchez and EL MUNDO journalist and columnist David Gistau .

To mitigate the effects of social distance, which left on the slopes of the WiZink a strange atmosphere of emptiness, it was also possible to enjoy the concert via streaming . This, the video, may be the price to pay for getting on the bandwagon of the new normal. Fortunately, the responsibility to demonstrate the eternity of a live performance in an instant went to  Loco , who is timeless.

"From a man from Barcelona who loves this city". With these words, Loquillo dedicated his solitary Cadillac to an audience that knew how to channel rock ecstasy through a protocol that seems to be with us for a while. Nothing will be the same, nothing will be the same? No way. We know perfectly well what never dies.
