Overcome the impasse caused by the pandemic, the Catalan independence movement reactivates its road map, which is equivalent to redoubling the institutional challenge to the State. It does it in two ways: leaving the prisoners of the 1-O coup one step from the third degree, which would be an unprecedented scandal in our democracy ; and maneuvering to subordinate the timing of the regional elections - anticipated by Torra before the outbreak of the coronavirus - to the partisan interests of separatism. The situation of the independence leaders who were convicted of sedition and embezzlement is particularly damaging to any democratic notion of equality.. The treatment boards of the prisons in which Oriol Junqueras, Raül Romeva, Jordi Turull, Josep Rull, Joaquim Forn, Jordi Sànchez, Jordi Cuixart, Dolors Bassa and Carme Forcadell were positioned yesterday in favor of granting the third degree, what which would mean that they would only have to step into the prison to go to sleep from Monday to Friday. On weekends they could spend them at home.

Should this decision materialize, which the Generalitat will surely validate, it would be an offense to the whole of Spanish citizens. First, because it would de facto suspend the judgment of the court that Judge Marchena presided over. And second, because it would constitute an affront to the rule of law, by slightly punishing a crime as serious as the attempt to liquidate national sovereignty. Separatism intends to put pressure on the Supreme Court after a judge from Lérida sent the Prosecutor's appeal to the Second Chamber of the High Court against the granting of article 100.2 to Forcadell by the Generalitat. This regulation, applied by Torra in a tortuous manner, provides prisoners with a semi-freedom regime. The Supreme Court must seize this opportunity to end the privileges of secessionist inmates , thus rectifying what constitutes a covert plan of impunity.

In any case, the maneuver with prisoners must be inserted in the pre-electoral context that Catalonia lives. Torra will set the date of the elections based on the strategy of the post-convergent bloc. After the extinction of CDC, Puigdemont seems ready to engulf the PDeCAT forming a new party , in which the JxCat prisoners will be integrated. The fight between Puigdemont and ERC, Sánchez's partner at the bilateral table of shame, will mark an election attended by the Catalan National Party founded by Marta Pascal, Artur Mas's right-hand man in the PDeCAT. The independence movement, turned into a gibberish of rupture wills, continues to represent the greatest threat to the unity of Spain.
