After "Despacito", "Djadja" or even "Balance ton quoi", what songs are we going to listen to this loop over and over again this summer? Europe 1 makes its forecasts and explains why there is only one summer hit, but several.

One of the last big hits of the summer was Despacito . Released in 2017, This piece of pop-reggaeton performed by the Puerto Ricans Luis Fonsi and Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, aka Daddy Yankee, has toured the world. So much so that the clip for this song was the first to reach three billion views on Youtube. The next year, in 2018, the song we heard everywhere was  Djadja by Aya Nakamura.

A dancing rhythm and light lyrics

The summer tubes have a few things in common and essential ingredients to put into the recipe. "We need a dancing rhythm because in summer we love to dance and party. We also need light, carefree words, which speak of love, meetings, flirtations, holidays", explains Jean-Marie Potiez, co -author of the book 101 summer tubes .

But the uses have changed. For a very long time, the tubes were hammered on all the radios. Today, music is mainly consumed on streaming platforms where a click is enough to change songs. This is why last year, several songs stood out, like Balance ton quoi by Angèle or  Pookie by Aya Nakamura. It is therefore likely that there will be several summer hits in 2020.

It could be Habibi by Kendji Girac according to Jean-Marie Potiez, or Stupid Love by Lady Gaga. Chromatica , the singer's album released in late May, has already sold 300,000 copies.
