It went down in history as the 5th Beatles. Brian Epstein had a rich and intense story, which director Jonas Akerlund decided to bring to the cinema in a biopic, entitled Midas Man . Like the king of Greek mythology, who transformed everything he touched into gold, Brian Epstein made it possible to make Fab Four what he became, after having signed them at their beginnings, in 1962.

“Brian Epstein's story has everything that interests me in a story. I love the fact that Brian seemed to know everything for everyone else, he saw things that no one else saw. His vision was breathtaking, he created a culture that did not exist before, "said Jonas Akerlund in a statement relayed by Rolling Stone .

Deep impact

Brian Epstein is also known for helping to take off the careers of music legends like Jimi Hendrix, the Who, Pink Floyd, and Cream. Known for his clips (he notably won a Grammy Award for his work on Ray of Light , by Madonna), Jonas Akerlund recently distinguished himself with Lords of Chaos , which recounts the emergence of the Norwegian black metal scene in the years 1990.

Despite his profound impact on the history of music, Brian Epstein had only a short career. He died in 1967, at the age of 32, from an accidental overdose. Midas Man will be filmed in Liverpool, England, home of the Beatles, as well as in the United States. The release is scheduled for next year.
