Flooding occurs in many places in Hunan "alarm" of water level in South Dongting Lake

It is expected that in the next 6 hours to 72 hours, South Dongting Lake, West Dongting Lake and East Dongting Lake will be in order. In the event of a flood exceeding or approaching the warning water level, the relevant units along the coast and the public need to strengthen prevention.

  Affected by the recent continuous heavy rainfall, the water levels of some of the middle and lower reaches of the four major rivers in Hunan Province, Xiang, Zi, Yuan and Li, and some of the tributaries in the Dongting Lake area have increased significantly, and the water level of Dongting Lake is currently rising. At 21:00 on the 2nd, the water level of Nanzui Station in South Dongting Lake was 34 meters, which reached the warning water level. The hydrological department predicts that within the next 72 hours, the iconic hydrological station of Dongting Lake, Chenglingji Station, will reach the warning water level. As the traditional "main battlefield" of flood control in Hunan, the water level of Dongting Lake has entered the "alarm" stage, which means that the current flood control situation in Hunan is relatively tense.

  The floods caused disasters in Zhangjiajie, Yueyang, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and Changsha. The disaster-stricken areas are organizing cadres and the masses for emergency rescue and disaster relief, speeding up the recovery of production and life after the disaster, and ensuring the basic living needs of the disaster-stricken people.
