Europe's first solar bakery is in France - 20 Minutes

With NeoLoco, Arnaud Crétot is betting on baking bread with solar energy. The Norman defines himself as an “engineer-artisan baker”. An engineer by training, he is interested in energy solutions and participates in the design of solar concentrators to power craft activities (bread oven, roaster), especially in Africa. He then developed his own machine made up of mirrors which reflected the light beams. This energy is sent to the oven to produce heat.

In 2018, Arnaud Crétot created NeoLoco and embarked on roasting before continuing his activity in the bakery. This project is part of a sustainable development approach and its products are sold in local stores. Photographer Emma Prosdocimi went to meet him at his home in Montville.
