[Commentary] On July 1, Zhang Xiaoming, deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, said that some countries issued intervention voices after the enactment of the National Security Law of Hong Kong in China. In Hong Kong people’s spoken language, it is “did it (no) make a mistake?” What are you doing!"

[Commentary] On the same day, the Information Office of the State Council of China held a press conference to invite Shen Chunyao, director of the Legal Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Zhang Xiaoming, deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, to introduce the state of Hong Kong's national security laws and answer questions from reporters.

[Commentary] According to reports, the reason why Hong Kong’s National Security Law has completed its decision-making and deployment in more than a month is because of the extensive legislative voice, solid work foundation, and the high attention paid by the NPC Standing Committee. At various stages of the formulation of the law, the voices of various sectors of Hong Kong society have been widely heard through various methods and channels.

[Explanation] However, China's enactment of the Hong Kong National Security Law has caused some countries to comment that the law is a measure that violates the principle of "one country, two systems." In this regard, Zhang Xiaoming, deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, said that Hong Kong’s National Security Law fully complies with the "one country, two systems" principle, and its legislative purpose is to maintain "one country, two systems."

Whenever the central authorities exercise certain powers according to law, some people in the West will come out and accuse you of destroying "one country, two systems" and eroding Hong Kong's high degree of autonomy. It seems that the central government can't control anything in Hong Kong, but instead he can freely point his finger at him. How can the Central Government ignore the various anti-China chaotic Hong Kong forces who are unscrupulously engaged in activities such as splitting the country and endangering national security in Hong Kong? Does any country in the world ignore the crimes that endanger its own security? "One country, two systems" is our national policy. No one understands and cherishes "one country, two systems" better than us, and no one else understands the true meaning of "one country, two systems" better than us, and has more definition and interpretation than "one country, two systems."

[Commentary] Recently, the United States has announced a number of sanctions, including restrictions on visas for Chinese officials and cancellation of special treatment for Hong Kong. Zhang Xiaoming also responded to this.

Some countries now claim to impose severe sanctions on some Chinese officials. I think this is the logic of robbers. What we are doing now is enacting a law to maintain national security in a local administrative region of the People’s Republic of China. This is your business. This is entirely our internal affairs. I didn't invite you to provoke you. Why should you be rude to me? Hong Kong people like to say two verbal phrases: "Is there anything wrong?" "It's a matter of you!" Of course, we are not intimidated. Gone are the days when Chinese people looked at other people's faces and looked up.

[Commentary] Zhang Xiaoming said that the Chinese government has also announced that visa restrictions should be imposed on people who perform badly on issues involving Hong Kong.

We have an old saying, "You do the first day, I do the fifteen". As long as the United States takes action, the Chinese government and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government must counter it. Relevant measures will also be seen on foot, one after another.

[Explanation] In response to the United States’ cancellation of Hong Kong’s special treatment, Zhang Xiaoming pointed out that Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability basically depend on two factors. One is whether Hong Kong’s own business environment and financial system’s advantages will be weakened. It is the momentum of the motherland’s economic development and the central government’s support for Hong Kong that will continue. China is confident that it can maintain Hong Kong’s international economic status.
