The city of Roanne (Loire) will offer 100 euros to visitors who will stay this summer at least two nights in one of its accommodation and who will eat at least once in a traditional restaurant. Because she announced this Wednesday.

The offer, which begins on Saturday and ends on August 30, is limited to a reimbursement of 100 euros per family. For this, holidaymakers must provide supporting documents. "It is my responsibility as a local elected representative to do everything to promote economic recovery (...) and to cushion the financial and social consequences engendered by the pandemic (of Covid-19) and confinement", justifies Yves Nicolin, president of the agglomeration of Roanne in a press release.

Other similar initiatives throughout France

Roanne is not alone in wanting to recover from the crisis, which is particularly severe in the tourism sector, by trying to seduce holidaymakers by promoting local tourism. The Drôme department has launched “Pass'Drôme”, up to 150 euros for people booking three consecutive nights on its territory.

In the Landes, 3,000 visitors will be able to benefit from a refund of 150 euros. Eligibility conditions: be among the first to register on the dedicated site and stay at least two nights in local accommodation, for the periods specified online.

In Provence, visitors who have spent three nights in accommodation in the Bouches-du-Rhône can claim from Friday on “Stay Pass” of 50 euros to pay for tickets to museums, parks, transport…

From June 5, and until July 15, tourists can also try their luck in Anjou by filling out an online form to win one of the 1,000 gift vouchers at stake. Among the prizes: 150 stays of one 400 euros worth in lodging or camping, or 300 meals in a restaurant worth 50 euros.
