Carl Reiner was awarded nine Emmy statues during his career, five of which were for the Dick van Dyke show, which he created.

TMZ writes that the actor passed away on Monday, June 29 at his home in California. The actor's assistant has confirmed the death of Variety.

Reiner, born in 1922, began his acting career in the 1940s but broke through with the comedy comedy Dick van Dyke show in the early 1960s.

Since then he has directed and starred in a long line of comedy films and TV series. He has also been active as a voice actor.

Played in the Oceans movies

In 1979 he played against Steve Martin in the Supernoll, which he also directed. He is also behind the Martin comedy Dr. Hfuhruhurr's 1983 Dilemma.

In the late 1990s and early 1990s, he did the role of Saul in the Oceans films starring George Clooney.

Reiner's last feature film role was as a voice for Carl Reineroceros in Toy story 4. The last film directed was That old feeling starring Bette Midler.

Reiner leaves behind three children, one of them actor and director Rob Reiner, known from rock comedy This is Spinal tap (as actor and director) and The wolf of wall street.

Carl Reiner is said to have died "a natural death" and turned 98 years old.
