It was unexpected a few weeks ago, but there will finally be festivals, concerts, and films in theaters this summer. The biggest events are still thinking about how to organize themselves while respecting the health protocol, but the organizers are already delighted to keep them.

Most organizers of music and film festivals no longer believed in it. With the coronavirus crisis, they all thought they should cancel their 2020 edition. But now that France is becoming more and more disconcerted, some people plan and review their plans. A relief for the public but also for the organizers, who still have to adapt their event to the health protocol.

Breakers, Francofolies, Rock en Seine, Cabourg film festival ...

In terms of music, the Déferlantes festival in Argelès-Sur-Mer, which welcomes 20,000 spectators per year, was to be held from July 8 to 11. It will not take place but an XS version will be organized from August 28 to 30. It will welcome 4,500 spectators per day, and not one more, in front of The Avener, Joey Starr, or Caballero & Jeanjass. "It feels good to be able to have a festival with the real public. I'm free, delivered," confides to Europe 1 David Garcia, the director of the festival.

The cinema sector is also booming. The Cabourg romantic film festival begins on Monday. Until July 1, the festival will run well in theaters, including the red carpet. "They say that I am very stubborn. There was no question, if we had a possibility of doing the festival not to do it," explains Suzel Pietri, the director of the festival, who never gave up.
